What is solution focused hypnotherapy?
I use solution focused therapy and the hypnotized state to bring about positive change.
Solution focused therapy focuses on where you want to be and what small practical steps you can take towards reaching your goals. We won’t focus on the past, only on how you would like things to be in the future.
The hypnotised state or trance is completely normal. In fact, it's an everyday occurrence: on average, every single person goes into trance once every seven minutes. For example, we are in a trance when we daydream or when we drive home on automatic pilot and don’t remember the journey. In exactly the same way that you can snap out of a daydream, or slam on the brakes of the car if a cat stepped out into the road, you can come out of a trance whenever you want to. You remain in control at all times. There is no way you can be stuck in a trance or made to do anything you don’t want to do. When you are in a trance, your conscious and subconscious mind are focused on the same thing. Your internal dialogue of thoughts switches off, so the positive suggestions I make, go straight to your subconscious mind without the conscious barrier which we usually have in place. This is why hypnotherapy is such a powerful therapy.
Stop Smoking session
One-off double session (lasting up to 2 hours)
Hypnotherapy is one of the leading and most successful therapies to aid a smoker to stop smoking for good, and enables many people to stop smoking every day.
The Stop Smoking session works differently to sessions for other issues. It is a one-off double session. The first half of the double session uses solution focused therapy and NLP techniques to address various aspects of smoking. The second half of the session uses hypnosis to reinforce and strengthen your resolve to stop smoking immediately, for good.
Phobias and fears
3 sessions after the FREE initial consultation
Hypnotherapy is a quick and effective cure for your phobia or fear. Normally it will take just 3 sessions after your FREE initial consultation. The first session focuses on general relaxation, the second on removing the emotional response you have to the object of the phobia or fear, and the final session focuses on building up a positive picture of how you would like to deal with the object of the phobia or fear in the future.
The most common worry clients have about hypnotherapy is that they will have to relive a traumatic memory or event. During the second session I use the Rewind Technique, an extremely powerful NLP technique, to rerun a memory involving the object of the phobia a number of times in an unemotional way, as if watching the event on a TV screen. This allows the brain to dissociate the object of the fear or phobia from the emotional response you previously had.
Other issues
All issues, other than stopping smoking and overcoming fears and phobias take between 8 to 12 sessions, after the FREE initial consultation. The more committed you are to positive change the quicker you'll get results.
Hypnotherapy is a catalyst to positive change. I will give you the tools you need to make all the necessary changes. I will reinforce your commitment and give you the support you need to reach your highest potential.

What is the difference between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Most people’s knowledge of hypnosis is through watching stage hypnotists on the television. However, there is a huge difference between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Both use hypnosis, but there the similarity ends.
A stage hypnotist uses suggestibility tests to find the most suitable members of the audience to come up on stage. Hypnosis is then used as a tool to entertain the rest of the audience. There is no therapy involved.
A hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to overcome the client’s issue, by making positive suggestions to the subconscious mind. This is a very powerful tool since it starts to change the client’s perceptions and beliefs about themselves from the inside. For example, for a client committed to stopping smoking, the positive suggestion that, “You are a non-smoker,” would be accepted by the subconscious and feed into the conscious mind.
